Zenith Virago is founder, Executive Officer and Deathwalker Trainer for the Natural Death Care Centre. A self-described maverick, and a respected pioneer with 25 years experience, teaching nationally and Internationally. Her work assists people to die well, and for families and friends to have a healthier bereavement, especially involving sudden death or trauma. With a legal and feminist background Zenith is a community resource, assisting people to reclaim their legal rights, and co-create their own social rites of passage. She is committed to cultural change, educating and empowering people. She is co-author of The Intimacy of Death and Dying, and subject of Zen & the Art of Dying. She is also a much sought-after celebrant.
Zenith is the 2021 Byron Citizen of the Year, awarded on Australia Day.
