Peter Hunt is a singer, songwriter and trumpet player who’s music carries a depth of feeling that echoes, at times crawls, soars, or grows like a tree through the cracks in a city’s pavement or the air of open country.  It is a multi-faceted being with layers that reflect a love for African, reggae and jazz and conveys a feeling of the search for and honoring of harmony and belonging.  It is a musical being cultivated with his wide musical family which includes the group Kooii, his most well-known project, a group that originated from Brisbane and who’s music brings a joy to people around the globe, and especially in communities of Brisbane, the Sunny Coast and the Byron Shire where he is now based.

The Hummin is a four-piece that includes fellow soul adventurers Tom Hinchliffe on bass (also of Kooii), Trav Jenkins (of Captain Dreamboat) on guitar and drummer Sam Mitchell. Being musicians each with their own distinct way and abundance of creativity the group sails through the weaving of their joint streaming.  They expound groove and vocal harmony that welcomes listeners to feel themselves in music, with it’s unfurling of a freedom and inspiration from the ground up to the sky.
